According to research by Red Bank and EXPO Magazine, the average exhibit salesperson
-earns $55,000 -has no sales quota
-sells space for shows earning $1 million -is the show manager for their event
-does not receive commission
Data provided by this survey reveals information regarding not only salary, but also sales quotas, positions, and bonuses.
Sales Quotas
43.7% of sales members do not face quotas
35.6% have quotas based on booth sales in a certain time frame
32.6% have quotas based on revenue sold
13.4% have quotas based on calls made in a certain time frame
Positions held by exhibit sales personnel
51.2% are show managers for their events
32.6% are dedicated exhibit sales representatives
18.8% are advertising / booth sales / sponsorship representatives
Show managers are a more prominent sales force in smaller shows
Exhibit sales staffs are a more prominent sales force in larger shows
Bonuses
53% of exhibit sales staff earn a base salary only
38% of exhibit sales staff earn a base salary and commission
7% earn commission only
$2,000 median bonus; highest over $6,000 (16.5%); lowest under $500 (7.7%)
