Guidelines for Hiring Professional Presenters

Putting together the perfect exhibit is all about the details. Often companies hire professional presenters specifically for a trade show - perhaps a talented speaker to present a special seminar on the latest products or a comedian to regale the crowds with some cutting-edge humor.

If you're not minding the details, your presenters will fall flat on their faces. They need certain equipment to do their jobs - and it's your job to be sure they have it!

Here is a typical list of audiovisual equipment that speakers often request:

  • 35 mm slide projector with remote
  • VCR with monitor
  • LCD projector
  • Screen
  • Microphone - There are a number of microphone styles, so ask the performer to indicate the specific style preferred.

When hiring presenters, give them a firm deadline for equipment requests. Equipment ordered on-site can be prohibitively expensive - if it's available at all!
