Guidelines for Working as a Team - Part 2

Continuing from last month - it's critical that your staff representatives, be they product managers, sales representatives or marketing personnel, work as a team.

Here are 13 more guidelines to help you form a coordinated effort:

  1. Find out which ideas excite the team most.
  2. Decide how much time is available to do the individual activities.
  3. Plan a contingency for last-minute assignments.
  4. Determine benchmarks for the project.
  5. Establish a time frame for each of the benchmarks.
  6. Ensure that all team members have enough information to participate.
  7. Understand what team members already know.
  8. Plan how to convey the essential skills that team members may need.
  9. Create a plan to capture new ideas that can be implemented easily.
  10. Be critical about activities that you are presently doing.
  11. Question whether these activities are still relevant based on your objectives.
  12. Find ways to make this project fun and exciting.
  13. Determine how you will measure your success.
