Guidelines for Working as a Team - Part 1
On the tradeshow floor it's critical that your staff representatives, whether they are product managers, sales representatives or marketing personnel, work as a team.
The following guidelines will help you achieve a coordinated effort:
- Know what you want the team to accomplish.
- Understand what success means to the team.
- Decide what kind of teamwork will be necessary to do the job well.
- Recognize each team member's strength.
- Identify how the individual team members will support each other.
- Assess what could go wrong with the project.
- Determine how you are going to get things back on track when something goes wrong.
- Discuss prevention tactics.
- Develop a plan to help prevent problems from occurring.
- Think about who will do what specific activity.
- Discuss how decisions will be made.
- Consider different ways to handle the project.
