Guidelines of Exhibiting Etiquette
Do's...
- Prepare for a successful show.
- Dress according to the company's dress code - uniform or other requirements.
- Wear your name tag on upper right side (avoid wearing a lanyard).
- Wear comfortable (broken-in) shoes. Consider having a second pair to change into if you work a very long shift.
- Know the booth layout.
- Know the products being displayed.
- Qualify the prospect with powerful questions.
- Determine the prospect's needs through your questioning.
- Relate your product to those needs during your presentation/demonstration.
- Know your competition.
- Be polite and firm with tire kickers.
- Walk around the show and familiarize yourself with what's new in the industry, even if you're a market leader.
- Help keep the booth clean and neat.
- Be enthusiastic.
- Be confident.
- Know who else is working the booth and their area of expertise.
- Be nice to "LOOKERS."
