Keeping Staff Motivated - Part 3

It's essential to build team spirit. Everyone in the booth should work together as a team, helping each other out whenever and wherever necessary. If a large group of staffers is working, split them up into teams, with technical people working alongside salespeople. Encourage them to establish their own action plans for working the show because this also promotes a certain amount of autonomy within the groups. As a team, they need to have time before the show to become acquainted, develop a level of trust, and get to know and understand each others' strengths and areas of specialty.

Consider hiring an outside consultant to act as a catalyst to help bring a new and refreshing approach to the team spirit. You could have the consultant conduct a training program before the show so that everyone knows specifically what to do to make the most of your tradeshow efforts.
